Gansu Jiugang won the first prize of the 5th Blooming Cup of the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology. Boonray Technology helps smart mines

The "Zhanfan Cup" 5G Application Competition is a competition organized by the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology (MIIT) to implement the decisions and deployments of the CPC Central Committee and the State Council and further promote 5G empowerment across various industries. The fifth "Zhanfan Cup" 5G Application Competition aims to accelerate the transition of 5G applications from "showrooms" to "commercial real estate."

At the recently concluded Smart Mining Competition, the "Gansu Xigou Mine 5G+ Smart Mining Project," submitted by Xigou Mining Company of Jiugang Group's Hongxing Co., Ltd., won first prize. The competition, themed "5G Empowers Mines, Intelligent Innovation and Transformation," aimed to promote the integration of technology and capital, cultivate innovative 5G-oriented smart mining technologies and products, and add new momentum to 5G. Boonray Technology, the provider of unmanned driving and remote control technology for the project, combined the practical needs of Jiugang's smart mining development with the guidance of the mining company and outstanding partners such as Huawei and China Mobile to develop and implement innovative 5G+AI solutions.

Recently, in the final of the smart mining competition of the 5th National "Blooming Cup" 5G Application Collection Competition, the "Gansu Xigou Mine 5G+Smart Mining Project" submitted by Xigou Mining Company of Jiugang Group Hongxing Co., Ltd. won the first prize. It is the first first prize in the mining field in Northwest China.

The "Gansu Xigou Mine 5G+Smart Mining Project" is the country's first 5G application scenario for combined operations of vehicles, shovels, and drills. The project was launched in April 2020. At present, two scenarios of "unmanned mining truck operation and remote control of mining machinery" have been built and implemented, realizing four operations of drilling, shoveling, transportation, and dredging, and remote operation of more than 20 large-scale mining production machinery.

This project was jointly developed by Xigou Mining Company, Gansu Mobile, and Huawei Technologies Co., Ltd. Xigou Mining Company established a 5G+ Smart Mine Project Team, which included senior engineers and electrical and internal combustion technicians from the operation area. They thoroughly understood the principles of retrofitting electric shovels, rotary drills, and mining trucks, and thoroughly evaluated the project based on actual field conditions to implement a feasible, stable, and compatible solution.

Today, in the high and cold mountainous areas at altitudes between 1,900 and 3,500 meters, some equipment operators have bid farewell to the harsh working conditions of hypoxia, severe cold, ice, snow, and dust. Four rotary drills drill holes, six electric shovels load materials, and eight mining trucks shuttle back and forth throughout the mine. Automatic positioning, loading, unloading, and transportation are seamlessly integrated. "5G + unmanned driving" and remote control technologies have effectively reduced the workload of mining workers. With a simple tap of their fingers, miners can transport ore truckloads out of the mountains, achieving "human-machine separation" and comprehensively improving safety in the mining industry.
