On May 22, the 2022 Gansu Science and Technology Week and Gansu Science and Technology Innovation Achievements Exhibition were held in Jiayuguan. During the event, Jiugang Group, Huawei, and Gansu Mobile jointly unveiled the "5G+ Smart Mine Innovation Demonstration Project" at Jiugang Xigou Mine. Ma Yuanyong, Deputy Mayor of Jiayuguan City; Ruan Qiang, Deputy General Manager of Jiugang Group; Zhang Xiaowen, Party Committee Member and Deputy General Manager of China Mobile Gansu Company; and Zhou Yu, Vice President of Huawei Global Technical Services, attended the meeting. The meeting was chaired by Zhao Jingwei, Party Secretary and General Manager of Jiayuguan Mobile Company.

At the meeting, Ma Yuanyong congratulated Jiugang, China Mobile, and Huawei on the establishment of the 5G+ Smart Mining Innovation Demonstration Project, and expressed hope that Huawei, Jiugang, and China Mobile would continue to contribute to deepening technological innovation and the transformation and upgrading of mine informatization. Ruan Qiang stated that, taking Jiugang Group's "new infrastructure" and "three transformations" as an opportunity, Jiugang Group, China Mobile, and Huawei have leveraged their respective technological advantages, targeted Jiugang Group's on-site needs, achieved mutual benefit and common development, and promoted the implementation of the 5G+ Smart Manufacturing integrated application project, achieving positive application results.

Zhang Xiaowen mentioned Jiugang Xigou's 5G Smart Mine, one of China Mobile's earliest 5G applications, which has been fully recognized by the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology. Zhou Yu reviewed the interim achievements of Huawei's "One Box, Three Centers" solution, which helped Jiugang Xigou Mine achieve the first digital transformation in China to integrate remote collaborative operations with rotary drills, electric shovels, and mining trucks. At the ceremony, Ma Yuanyong, Ruan Qiang, Zhang Xiaowen, Zhou Yu, and Zhao Jingwei jointly unveiled the 5G+ Smart Mine Innovation Demonstration Project jointly developed by Jiugang Group, Gansu Mobile, and Huawei.

During the exhibition, Gansu Mobile's booth showcased solutions, technologies, and hardware related to the "5G+Smart Mine" scenario. Boonray Technology, the first autonomous driving solution provider to implement "vehicle-shovel linkage" technology in the mining sector, partnered with China Mobile and Huawei to build the "5G+Smart Mine" project at Jiugang's Xigou Mine, enabling China's first "safety officer-free" nighttime production of autonomous mining trucks. For this project, Boonray Technology retrofitted China's first 5G-based remote-controlled electric shovel. At the 5G+Mining Special Session at the China 5G+ Internet Conference in late 2021, China Mobile awarded Boonray Technology the "China Mobile 5G Smart Mine Alliance Outstanding Ecosystem Partner Award" in recognition of its outstanding contributions to the Gansu Jiugang unmanned mine project. Boonray Technology, Huawei's first 5GtoB autonomous driving solution partner in the mining sector, also received Huawei's "GTS Business Collaboration Partner Award" in 2021.

Sifang helped build the Xigou Mine of Jiugang Group in Gansu Province into China's first integrated "5G+ Smart Mine" featuring vehicles, shovels, and drills. This enabled remote control of electric shovels and unmanned mining trucks, helping the company win the Gansu Province Award for Outstanding Contribution to Promoting High-Quality Development. Together, they assisted Jiugang Group in its "three transformations," reducing costs and increasing efficiency, while also improving quality and efficiency, ensuring safe operations. They are promoting 5G's advancement from "usability" to "practical" and "user-friendly," accelerating the deep integration of next-generation information technology with mineral development and utilization, and promoting the green, low-carbon transformation and high-quality development of my country's mining areas.
