Boonray Technology and Jinding Group jointly launched new energy unmanned mining vehicles to build smart mines

The moon rises over Mount Emei, illuminating the vast ocean, accompanying us across vast distances. Founded in 1965, the Emei Cement Plant has undergone tremendous growth and transformation under the witness of the moon above Mount Emei. In 1993, it was officially listed in Shanghai as Sichuan Jinding (Group) Co., Ltd. (stock code: 600678). Sichuan Jinding holds 270 million tons of limestone reserves, making it a major calcium oxide producer in Southwest China. In 2021, it completed a technical upgrade project at its limestone mine with an annual capacity of 8 million tons. Net profit in the first three quarters increased by 63.7% year-on-year, ushering in a period of accelerated performance. In June of this year, Sichuan Jinding, driven by technology and focused on building smart mines, introduced a fully electric unmanned mining vehicle project. With technical support from Boonray Technology, the project aims to rapidly implement autonomous operation in the mine.

Smooth operation in wet conditions

Sichuan Jinding is located in Emeishan City, Sichuan Province. The mining area is subject to year-round rainfall, resulting in muddy, slippery, and waterlogged roads. 65% of the Boray vehicles' operating time occurred on rainy days, with the roads often wet. Boray's unmanned mining trucks, leveraging the multi-sensor fusion perception capabilities and adaptive speed planning and control capabilities of the Boray Multi-Transport system, operate smoothly despite adverse environmental factors, demonstrating their ability to operate normally on muddy roads and in light to moderate rain.

Precise coordination at both ends of loading and unloading

Boonray Technology conducted a complete loading, transport, and unloading operation at the Jinding Mine. During the operation, the unmanned driving capabilities of the heavy-loaded uphill and downhill operations were smooth and efficient. Boonray's unmanned mining truck demonstrated precise control of the vehicle at the unloading port: A longitudinal control system based on a dual closed-loop position and speed control loop enabled the vehicle to park and unload precisely against the retaining wall when parking both empty and fully loaded.

Mixed manned and unmanned vehicles

In addition, there are non-autonomous wide-body operating vehicles or other social vehicles driving on the open production sections of the Jinding mining area. When other vehicles intrude on the driving route of the autonomous mining car, the tracking prediction and risk avoidance behavior planning capabilities of the Boray mining car based on spatiotemporal context can brake in time, demonstrating the ability to meet, group, and bypass obstacles in mixed manned and unmanned scenarios.

Sichuan Jinding completed the 5G network deployment as early as 2021. In 2022, while continuing to promote the construction of 5G smart mines, it started the upgrade and replacement of green unmanned mining trucks in mines. Using 5G, green electricity, artificial intelligence, and industrial Internet of Things technologies, it implemented 5G green smart mine upgrades in mines to improve mine operational efficiency and management capabilities.

In addition to the introduction of Boonray Technology's all-electric driverless mining trucks, the Jinding Mining Area welcomed a new batch of all-electric heavy-duty trucks on August 6th, providing a zero-carbon, green energy transportation solution and supporting the development of a green mine. This batch of 50 new energy dump trucks are battery-swap pure electric dump trucks, powered by Boonray Technology's green transportation ecosystem partner, State Power Investment Corporation's Qiyuanxin Power. They offer rapid recharging within 3 minutes, delivering high efficiency and high returns. Reliable energy supply ensures vehicle energy efficiency through multiple channels, ensuring full power from start to finish. Harnessing electricity is driving the implementation of the country's "dual carbon" strategy. 2022 marks the 57th anniversary of Sichuan Jinding, spanning more than half a century.
