On January 14th, an expert team completed an evaluation and acceptance of the intelligent construction project at Huajian Open-Pit Coal Mine in Inner Mongolia. The evaluation covered the unmanned driving system, the intelligent computing integrated management and control platform, and the remote control system for auxiliary equipment. The project, which was technically supported by Boonray Technology, took only 100 working days from winning the bid to passing the acceptance test, achieving normalized unmanned operation with no fewer than five unmanned mining trucks per train. This makes Huajian the first of 65 mines designated for intelligent coal mine construction in Ordos City to complete this evaluation. The evaluation was conducted in a short time, with high scores, fast acceptance, and strong stability. The expert team was composed of leaders and experts from the State Administration of Mine Safety Supervision, Ordos Municipal Energy Bureau, China Coal Technology and Engineering Corporation, and China University of Mining and Technology.

On-site acceptance and evaluation by the expert group
Huajian Coal Mine's unmanned driving system leverages 5G network communications and utilizes Bolei's independently developed unmanned driving system and vehicle-by-wire control system, achieving unmanned operation throughout the entire loading and unloading process.
Unmanned driving provides the following functions: remote control driving, autonomous single-vehicle operation, centimeter-level precision positioning, obstacle avoidance and vehicle meeting, precise planning and decision-making, and safety assurance. Bolei's unmanned mining vehicle fleet has overcome harsh working conditions at Huajian Coal Mine, including bumpy roads, heavy dust, and extremely cold weather (over -30 degrees Celsius at night), without any safety accidents.

Automatic collaborative loading

Automatically adapt to unloading
By coordinating the unmanned mining vehicles with excavators and loaders modified with V2E and V2L technology, the system adapts to complex operating scenarios, such as mining and loading areas, the changing dumping locations in dumps, and mixed transportation with manned mining vehicles. This enables unmanned transportation operations across the entire mining, loading, transportation, and dumping process in open-pit mines. This allows for continuous production operations in two shifts, day and night, effectively reducing operating costs, improving operational efficiency, and gradually increasing production capacity.

Boray Technology's unmanned mine car marshaling and transportation service model at Huajian Coal Mine represents the implementation of unmanned driving in actual mine operations. By outsourcing unmanned transportation capacity, the mine saves on initial investment in unmanned mine cars while ensuring the rapid implementation of unmanned technology in mining operations. In the future, as the unmanned mine car marshaling operation model matures, it will be gradually expanded to the entire Huajian Coal Mine, achieving a fully intelligent and unmanned operation.
To complement unmanned operation, Boray's proprietary cloud-based shoveling and loading dispatching system enables 3D map visualization, shoveling and loading task scheduling, equipment anomaly alarms, production data statistics, and production data analysis. The wire-controlled system's driving, braking, steering, lifting, lighting, horn, emergency stop, and fault feedback functions all reliably meet production needs.
Huajian Open-Pit Coal Mine prioritizes the development of intelligent coal mines. In line with the national and Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region's overall goal of "achieving intelligent mine construction for coal mining enterprises by 2025," the mine is actively promoting the integration of intelligent technology and coal mining to continuously enhance its intelligent capabilities. In February 2021, it was rated as a national first-class standard coal mine for the standardized safety production management system. In November 2021, it passed the autonomous region-level green mine acceptance and successfully entered the autonomous region's green mine directory.
